Sitting on the edge of the fountain, Rajah's head on her lap, Jasmine smiled down at him. Her best and only friend was a large Bengal tiger. Sighing, Jasmine ran her hand along his head, listening to him purr. She loved Rajah, but more then anything, she wanted a friend. Someone she could talk to, who could talk back. Someone to spend her time with, someone who could bring her news of the world outside the palace, for that was all she knew. Stuck in the palace since birth, Jasmine only ever saw small bits of the market during the few times she has been able to escape. Though now the guards were more watchful, not wanting to explain to the Sultan that his daughter ran away again. They had a hard enough time explain things to Jafar, though Jasmine could understand why, Jafar was a creepy old man. She would banish him the second she took the throne, him and his obnoxious bird.
"Rajah, what do you think human friends are like? You would do anything for me, but would they? That boy in the market helped me out, and he didn't even know me. Jafar will pay for what he did to that innocent boy." Narrowing her eyes, Jasmine thought of Jafar, her father's visier who had the kind boy from the market put to death. And the boy had saved her from having her hand cut off too, he was innocent.
